Brian McKinney

documents/brian_mckinney_thumb.jpgBrian McKinney brings his palpable love of music to Silostock in order to help broaden the spectrum of services available to musicians, singers, and record labels. Brian has been involved with music since age 12, when he picked up his first guitar. Throughout high school, Brian played guitar in a band and began assimilating as much music into his aural diet as possible. By his early 20s, he found himself living in Charlotte, NC, running his own music promotion company, focusing on booking and promoting live concerts. During the few years that he was running the company, Brian booked live concerts as diverse as rock bands like Band of Horses, Cursive and Of Montreal to hip hop artists like Fat Lip and Little Brother.

When not promoting concerts, Brian also contributed to local media such as Creative Loafing and Amps11 before expanding his music writing to indie publications like Modern Fix, Wonka Vision, Subba-Cultcha, Skope and more. Brian relocated to Los Angeles in 2006, where he owns his own PR firm and handles public relations duties for a number of bands and artists and continues to write about and review music in his spare time.
